Allyuh I know first impressions are lasting but ah have to talk ‘bout dis and I know we could talk ‘bout food because Trinis love food. Allyuh ah get so vex eh!

So lewee set de scene. Meh belly empty. De sun HOT. Is only some H2O ah runnin’ on and tong have too much midday traffic. Where to go? Where to GO!?!?! FOOOOOOOODDDD. OK, OK, breathe…can’t get de chinee food I really want from Park street because let’s face it: downtown midday is only traversable on foot. *sigh*. Fine, my co-pilot and I decide to go to El Pecos in Royal Palm Plaza, I can taste the food already…

Flavourful, juicy, delicious, hot, spicy, decadently textured FOOD! I mean OK it’s not Hyatt or Carlton Savannah but we hongry and really crix and tuna from de grocery woulda be bess too…but with our hearts set on Pecos between de drive from town to Maraval we good to go ….or so we thought. A park? Check! $$$ fuh de eats? Check! De chicken, de pork, de steak fries? CHECK! We in business!!

Or so we thought….

Bite one…mmmmmmmmmm. Flavourful, juicy, delicious, cold, spicy,…HOLON SAY WHAT!?!? COLD?! IS ELEVEN O CLOCK IN DE MORNIN PEOPLE DE FOOD COLD!?!! STEUPS. And no man we steupsin’ again STEUPS. Dat is assness! I must feel bad fuh comin’ to get my lunch early? De chicken cold, de pork cold, de fries mussee fry since 10 o’ clock. I understand havin’ tings in place but instead of throwin’ salt on de fries yuh add it to my wounds by giving me YESTERDAY’S FOOD?! But OH GORM ALLYUH if you gonan’ warm de food from yesterday tief we head lil bit and warm it properly nah. Ah really love meh Pecos eh but dat hurt meh heart.

At least if we got de crix and tuna we woulda know what we were in for. We get set up bad, bad.

Will there be a next time…? Fuh Bliz and food? Hellz yes! Fuh Bliz and Pecos? *sniffs delicately* we’ll see.
